Virginia Is Our Home: Samirah Town Hall Series #2

Delegate Ibraheem S. Samirah is hosting a series of town halls throughout Fairfax County that aim to facilitate meaningful discussions around the most pressing issues facing the County and the Commonwealth. Del. Samirah has convened leading local, state, and national organizations who can offer expertise and who work within communities to tackle the issues at hand: job quality, criminal justice reform, and housing affordability. All are invited to attend and take the opportunity to ask questions.

There will be three town halls across three nights in October:

October 3rd – Best for Business, Worst for Workers
A discussion on Virginia’s economic status quo

Featuring: Oxfam America, SEIU Virginia 512, the Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy, and LiUNA

A discussion on ending Mass Incarceration

Featuring: Fairfax County NAACP, Commonwealth’s Attorney Candidate Steve Descano, Virginia Justice Democrats, and OAR NoVA

October 24th – Affordable Housing in a Growing NoVA
A discussion on addressing inequity in housing

Featuring: the National Low Income Housing Coalition, Northern Virginia Affordable Housing Alliance, and Cornerstones
