March On for Voting Rights – HRI

August 28, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Join HRI in holding our lighted letters at the March On for Voting Rights rally outside the Smithsonian African American Museum in D.C.

On the 58th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s historic march on Washington, we’ll call on President Biden and Congress to protect our freedom to vote and our democracy. This march and rally, led by March On for Voting Rights, will be one of many sister marches around the country that day.

Meet us at 10:00 a.m. at Wiehle metro near the farecard machines. We’ll ride metro to Federal Triangle, walk 2 blocks to meet marchers at the African American museum, then hold our letters at the rally from 11:15 a.m.-12:45 p.m. and return to Wiehle around 2 p.m.

Facemasks are optional for fully vaccinated people but mandatory if you are not fully vaccinated. Please wear an HRI neon yellow protest shirt, if possible, and bring water and a bag lunch.

Those who sign up will be guaranteed to hold a letter; others may rotate in, as needed. You’re encouraged to bring like-minded friends and family to join the rally!
