HRI General Meeting: Immigration Issues Committee

The Immigration Issues Committee of HRI will be hosting our February 19 general meeting. Come find out how you can take action locally to help advance policies that will support our immigrant neighbors.
The Immigration Issues Committee will provide an overview of the arrest-to-deportation pipeline that currently exists in Fairfax County and separates our neighbors from their families and community. This will be followed by a discussion of proposed changes to Fairfax County policies and Virginia law, calls to action, and tips on how to talk with people in your network about challenging issues. As you may know, almost all offices in Fairfax County are up for election this year, including the Board of Supervisors, School Board, Sheriff, and Commonwealth Attorney, so we have an opportunity to create real, meaningful change to support our neighbors.
