Herndon Car Rally – Justice For Black Lives
June 4, 2020 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
“AN INJURY TO ONE IS AN INJURY TO ALL”
We, as Herndon residents, are deeply saddened by the death of George Floyd and all the other people who lost their lives to an unjust system.
Enough is enough!
To show your solidarity to the Black Community, come and join us for a peaceful driving protest on a designated route through parts of Herndon.

👉🏼 ARRIVAL (at Herndon Middleschool)
—- Important !!!
All participants must be within the perimeter by 5.30 pm !!!
NO LATER, so that the police can make the appropriate lane closures.
No vehicles will be allowed in once the roads are closed. Follow police direction.
– The yellow rectangular (“Staging Point”) on the map, is the site where everyone will gather (see the details on map, which you find posted under ‘Discussions”).
If that parking lot is full, then you will be guided to the school bus parking lot. Please pay attention to volunteers and police and where they ask you to park!
– Pull into a parking space and pay attention to where volunteers will guide you to!!
Do NOT line cars up in a line bumper-to-bumper!
Pull into the parking space in such a manner that allows for easy deployment, meaning back into the spot as appropriate, so that you may easily pull out once your vehicle is released.
volunteers and police will guide you once you enter the area.
– All participants MUST stay in their vehicles at all times during while in the procession route.
👉🏼 PROCESSION & ROUTE
– The driving route will be as follows:
– From 5th Street turn LEFT onto Locust Street
– From Locust Street turn RIGHT onto Elden Street

– Driving Speed
We are allowed to drive under the speed limit ON our route, but again, NO stopping of your vehicle.
– Once you pass the intersection of Elden and Monroe Streets and are “released” into the normal flow of traffic, your participation in the demonstration has concluded.
You must proceed with the normal flow of traffic and must obey all regular traffic laws.
👉🏼 PREPARDNESS
Please disperse and go home at the first sign of violence or destruction of property!!
Not that we or the police expect this to occur, but we must always be prepared.
This will prevent the mingling of different actors!
The peaceful protesters immediately vacating an area at the first sign of trouble, will leave the police to do their jobs.
HPD officers will be on-hand during the event.
