The mission of Herndon-Reston Indivisible (HRI) is to mobilize a progressive network while electing Democrats who support our values of transparency, inclusion, tolerance & fairness.  We are inspired by the Indivisible Guide (Dec 2016) and Indivisible Guide to Democracy on the BrinK (Nov 2024) and partner with grassroots organizations across the Nation.

Most of our members live in Virginia Congressional Districts 10 and 11.  We are overwhelmingly in favor of progressive issues, such as support for social security, healthcare, gun violence prevention, and women’s rights.  Many of our members are affiliated with other political, religious, and community organizations that promote good governance and civic responsibility.

The HRI core leaders are Anne Alston, Carrie Bruns, Joanne Collins and Heidi Zollo.

We respond to national calls for action; we rally together at protests and vigils when the need occurs. We educate ourselves on issues, make phone calls, send letters and post cards, and meet with elected representatives. We are actively engaged in electing leaders who will protect Democracy.

We encourage you to join us or any other Indivisible organization near you.
