HRI Leadership Statement of Support for Senator Jennifer Boysko for 10th Congressional District
Herndon-Reston Indivisible Leadership is supporting Senator Jennifer Boysko as the candidate for CD 10. We believe she is the strongest candidate to represent the district. She has broad, long-term experience as a grassroots organizer, elected official, and a strong record of winning.
We believe that it’s important that this district be represented by a woman with a substantial history of defending reproductive rights, as well as human rights, with solid advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ and immigrant communities.
Senator Jennifer Boysko has already represented 200K people in this district as a delegate and senator.
Senator Boysko has a broad range of legislative accomplishments, including serving on the Budget Conference Committee, as Chair of the Senate Transportation Committee, and as the acting Chair of the Broadband Advisory Council. She works across the aisle, and is a consensus builder.
Senator Boysko knows the importance of providing strong constituent services having worked for Supervisor John Foust at the local government level.
For decades, Senator Boysko has been a tenacious grassroots organizer fighting to get Democrats elected at all levels of government. She is a founding member of Dulles Area Democrats (2005) whose mission is to support democratic candidates in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties.
When Herndon-Reston Indivisible was founded in 2017, Senator Boysko became a frequent guest speaker, supported our efforts and collaborated with us on election strategy. Heidi Zollo has known Jennifer for more than 20 years.
Senator Boysko has supported Rep. Jennifer Wexton’s campaign to elect her to three terms in Congress.
Senator Jennifer Boysko is endorsed by current and former elected at all levels of government – local, state and federal including Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, Senator Mamie Locke, Senator Louise Lucas, former Delegate Kathleen Murphy, Delegate Atoosa Reaser, Delegate Irene Shin, Supervisor Juli Briskman, Supervisor Walter Alcorn, former Leesburg Mayor David Burke, former Leesburg Council member Vanessa Richardson, former Loudoun NAACP Chair Philip Thompson and former DNC Chair Howard Dean.
