I have some wonderful news to share. The Richmond Times-Dispatch has reported that the Clerk of the State Senate has received a raise to bring her salary in line with her male counterpart in the House.

Senate Republican leaders have raised the salary of the female clerk of the chamber to bring it in line with her male counterpart on the House side, who was earning about $19,000 a year more, though she’s been in the job far longer.
21 years longer to be exact! I was disappointed when my Republican colleagues rejected an amendment during session to correction this injustice. I spoke in support of that amendment, offered by Delegate Marcus Simon (Thank you Marcus!). You can see my speech here:
