DESCRIPTION:Help us protect the Vote during the 2026 CD-8 Primary Election! \nSign up to act as an inside poll observer (Authorized Representative under Virginia Law) on the August 4th CD-8 Primary Election Day. For experienced poll observers\, there is also an option to sign up as a “Rover” which would require you to go to different precincts based on some need or just to ensure that things are proceeding smoothly. There are five (5) Rover slots. \nLegal experience is preferred\, but not required to serve as a poll observer. Your tasks will be to observe the voting process\, make sure the law is being followed\, ensure voters can cast their ballot\, and report any problems. \nBefore your poll observation shift you must complete training. Attend by Zoom a live online training on July 28th at 7 pm provided by the Fairfax County Democrats’ Election Law and Voter Protection Committee by registering with this link: \nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/5Hk4Yiv3TnqRgFWkHUvKmA \nAfter training\, review the training materials\, confirm you have received your authorized representative form\, and show up on time for your shift!

DESCRIPTION:Part 2 – 2027 General Assembly Community Town Hall: A Conversation with Your Invited Delegates\nFollowing the listening session\, we will invite delegates representing the participating districts to join residents for a discussion of the community’s top priorities\, share their perspectives on the upcoming legislative session\, and explore ways community members can support legislative efforts throughout the year. \nThis initiative builds on the civic engagement work we’ve been doing through our Civics in Action workshops\, Adopt-a-Bill program\, and monthly Legislative Lookout meetings. Our goal is to help residents become informed\, engaged participants in the legislative process while creating meaningful opportunities for dialogue between constituents and their elected officials. \nThe events are intended for residents in the following Virginia House of Delegates districts: \n\nDistrict 9 – Western Fairfax (Delegate Karrie Delaney)\nDistrict 11 – City of Fairfax and Central Fairfax (Delegate Gretchen Bulova)\nDistrict 18 – Springfield\, West Springfield\, and adjacent Burke areas (Delegate Kathy Tran)\nDistrict 19 – Lorton\, Laurel Hill\, Gunston\, and South County (Delegate Rozia Henson)\n\n  \nInvitations will be extended to each of these delegates to participate in Part 2.
