SUMMARY:Truth Over Fox Protest
DESCRIPTION:We dodged a bullet on Nov. 8th and are lucky that Fox “News” does not appear to be actively fanning any flames about election fraud by Democrats. But if Fox continues to be hellbent on keeping a large share of voters completely detached from reality\, every election will require massive Democratic mobilization or democracy will be lost. On November 15\, local activists (you may see some of your neighbors!) are gathering at a TruthOverFox protest being organized by the Defenders of Democracy Against Disinformation to publicly call out the Fox lies that are helping to make our country ungovernable. Join us for a 4-5 pm protest of Fox lies at the corner of Elm St. and Wisconsin (7200 block) in downtown Bethesda\, right across the street from a new local broadcast office. (Although the local station is not the same as the Fox cable channel\, both are part of the Fox Corporation.) Signs will be available. Prior Bethesda protests have gotten a great reception from drivers\, pedestrians\, and office workers! Protests in NYC and Austin TX will also be held on Nov. 15. (Email to get more information on those.) Can’t make the 15th? Join us on Nov. 29\, same time and place.

SUMMARY:Reception with Colorado Sec. of State Jena Griswold
DESCRIPTION:Jena was elected in 2018 as the first Democratic Secretary of State in Colorado in 60 years. She is the youngest Secretary of State in the country\, the first Democratic woman elected as Secretary of State in Colorado\, and one of few women to hold constitutional statewide office in Colorado. \nJena has been a champion for voting rights and democracy access both in Colorado and across the country. As Chair of the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State (DASS)\, Jena is leading the effort to elect and protect Democratic Secretaries of State across the country. \nI can’t stress enough the importance of keeping the Secretary of State of Colorado in Democratic hands.  Jena’s election is essential to protect the right to vote and make voting easier and more accessible. \n2022 is going to be a difficult election year for Democrats and this race will be no exception. Conservative SuperPACs spent over $500k in the primary for this race and we can expect them to spend significantly more in the general election. We need to make sure Jena has the resources to run a strong campaign.
