DESCRIPTION:On September 20\, 2022\, the House District 35 (Dunn Loring\, Oakton\, Tysons\, Vienna) Nominating Committee adopted a Call to Caucus to determine the Democratic nominee in the January 10\, 2023 Special Election to fill the vacancy left by Delegate Mark Keam’s resignation to take a post in the Biden-Harris Administration. \nGeneral Participation/Voter Requirements. Each participant in the Caucus must be a qualified voter in the 35th District at the time of their participation. No participant in the Caucus may intend to support any candidate who is opposed to the Democratic nominee in that Special Election. \nUse fairfaxvotes.org/lookup to confirm location eligibility.  \nVoting Opportunities. Participants in the Caucus may vote in person only: \n\nAt the Fairfax County Democratic Committee Headquarters\, 8500 Executive Park Ave\, Suite 402\, Fairfax\, VA 22031:\n\nTuesday\, October 4 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM\nThursday\, October 6 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM\n\n\nSaturday\, October 8\, at any of the following three (3) locations from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM:\n\nKilmer Center Cafeteria\, 8102 Wolftrap Road Vienna\, VA 22182\nOakton Elementary School Cafeteria\, 3000 Chain Bridge Rd\, Oakton\, VA 22124\nPatrick Henry Library Meeting Room\, 101 Maple Ave E\, Vienna\, VA 22180\n\n\n\nCandidate Requirements. Each candidate for nomination must meet all applicable requirements of state law\, the Party Plan\, and Caucus rules. Each candidate for nomination must submit: \n\nA completed Declaration of Candidacy form\, bearing the original signature of the candidate;\nA non-refundable filing fee of $1000\, made payable to the Fairfax County Democratic Committee; and\nTwenty-Five (25) signatures from registered voters eligible to vote in the 35th District\, notarized by collectors\, using Petition for Qualified Voters form (“Petition”) [Link for Petition Form]\n\nDeclaration of Candidacy form\, filing fee\, and petition forms must be received at the Fairfax County Democratic Committee headquarters\, no later than Friday\, September 30\, 2022 at 5:00 PM.
